THE SHAKING IS HERE, WHO WILL STAND?
Memory verse
Haggi 2:6-7
For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land
And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, "YET ONCE MORE I WILL SHAKE NOT ONLY THE EARTH, BUT ALSO THE HEAVEN." This expression, "Yet once more," denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken, so as those who can't be shaken may remain. (Hebrew 12:26-27)
There are three similar passages in the gospels which say that the powers of the heavens will be shaken: Matthew 24:29, Mark 13: 25 and Luke 21:26.
*What is the reason for the shaking?
They are two parts of the shaking.
One is the physical shaking which involves the shaking of the heavenly bodies, signs in the skies, shaking on earth, natural disasters, increase in hurricanes, earthquakes, flooding, wars, etc..
The second is the spiritual shaking which involves the separation of the tares from the wheat.
1. To call people's attention back to The true God who made the heavens and the earth; because of the cares of this world, worldly pleasures etc...many have forgotten about God, many are no longer Christians, many have become atheists.
They feel they are comfortable with themselves, they have all they need, therefore they need no God, well, God will soon cause a shaking that will bring them back to him.
2. The spiritual shaking: to separate the tares from the wheat and prepare them for his soon return.
The tares and the wheat are meant to grow together, until when the time of separation comes, the time of harvest. (Matthew 13:24-30)
What ways are we going to be shaken?
Let's look at the physical aspect of the shaking first.
Throughout history God has always used natural disasters to draw us close to him.
* Through natural disasters: famines, earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, diseases and wars..etc. Signs in the heaven, celestial abnormalities.
All these are mentioned in Matthew 24, as signs of the coming of Christ, these things will continue to increase to the extent that the unbelieving will come to believe that there is God, who is seeking for our attention, who wants us to repent from our sins.
I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with HAIL in all the labours of your hands; yet ye turned not to me, saith the LORD. ( Haggi 2:17)
Like we are already seeing today, if we are truly watching for the signs...
Only this month, thousands of earthquakes have been recorded around the globe
Large Hail stones in the mid of summer in Mexico and other parts of the world.
Flooding in different countries.
High temperature which are record breaking have been recorded.
Men and women are dying because of heat waves.
Some people are already coming back to their senses and are asking what is happening?
The day I watched the earthquake that struck California, a 6.4 magnitude. People were shouting Oh Lord! Oh Lord help us! Seriously?
Because of earthquake they have remembered God, all these things will continue to increase.
Wars and rumors of wars
We can clearly see the handwriting on the wall.
People are already afraid of what is about to befall the nations....the only remedy is to give your lives to Christ and be fully converted.
Will these things wake people up from their slumber? off course, but not all...
Some People will know that this is the time to embrace God, not the time of partying when they see all that will befall them.
God will shake his Church: For judgement begins in the house of God.
This end times we are going yo see more shaking in the house of God, in the lives of pastors, ministers, apostles, prophets etc....
God will expose many men of God who are wolves in sheep clothing.
Those who have been deceiving his sheep, and out of ignorant, they don't know the truth, but the bible says my sheep will hear my voice and they will come to me.
Why will God expose them?
If he doesn't expose them then his true children will not hear his voice, because they are so so loyal to their pastors...
By his grace when he exposes them then the WYES of his children will be opened to the truth and they will come to him.
Judgment is coming and it will first start with the men of God who have led his sheep astray , he will disgrace them. (Jeremiah 23:1, Ezekiel 13:9)
I have seen this in my dream, God will start exposing them.
Watch out and see, for he has declared it
Through trails and persecutions: many Christians think that they will not face persecution, but the truth is that we all will be faced with persecution in one way or the other.
Some people are already facing theirs now, while some will be in the future.
In the northern part of Nigeria Christians are being killed and beheaded almost everyday.
Don't you think that it will come to the whole world very soon?
There will be a time of trouble, a time of testing, where everyone will be tried and tested. We will be refined in the fire and be purified just like gold.
Persecution will come, it's already on the way, weather is through Islamic terrorist or through the Sunday law, which ever one, persecution must come.
This is when we will know God's through children, those who will stand by him to the end of time and don't give up on their faith.
Already we are seeing the signs of the law, just a little while, at the time God has approved it will come it will surely come to pass.
3. Who will be shaken off?
[7/13, 20:21] Nwokeohuru Loveth: Those who have not built their house on the solid rock who is Jesus Christ.
Those who have not abided in him, and he's not in them.
Those who have not received the Holy Spirit and are walking in the flesh instead of walking in the Spirit.
Those who are still living a life of sin, and worldly pleasures...
Those who are not yet truly converted.
Those who have not died to self.
Those who keep the letters of the law only but have no fruit of the Spirit in them.
Soon God's people will be tested by fiery trials, and the great proportion of those who now appear to be genuine and true will prove to be base metal....
As the storm approaches, a large class who have professed their faith for Jesus but have not been sanctified through obedience to the truth, abandon their position and join the ranks of the opposition this is because they are not truly grounded, because they rely on their own strength and not on God.
He that thinketh he stand should take heed lest he falls. ( 1 Corinthians 10:12)
Reasons why they will be shaken off.
* Not truly converted and are not grounded in the word of God.
* still walking in the flesh.
* relying on yourself and not on the power of the Holy Spirit ( for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, (Ephesians 6:12)
* lack of humility to learn, study and receive the truth.
* following doctrines of man and are not heeding to the warnings of God
5. Who will stand?
2 Peter 3:11
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
Those who keep his commandments and have the faith of Jesus
Revelation 14:12
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Those who are walking in the Spirit
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16
Those who are dead to self.
1 John 2:15-17 Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever
Yes, we are in this world but not of the world. ( John 17:16)
There should be a clear distinction between a true child of God and a child of the world.
6.What should we do to remain stead fast until Christ comes and be counted worthy?
On that faithful day, the Lord shall say to many, depart from me I know you not you workers of iniquity.
Meanwhile these people called him Lord Lord while on earth, they were professed Christians, and thought they were following him.
We should really take heed
Peter one of the apostles of Christ thought the same too but was disappointed when he denied Jesus three times.
Not until he received the Holy Spirit and truly became converted that he really became a true disciple of Christ.
Simon, Simon!” speaking to Peter. “Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he might sift you as wheat.” Trying to sift him out. “But I prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you return to Me, strengthen the brethren.”
Luke 22:31
He doesn’t want us just to draw near with our mouth and have our hearts far away. He wants our heart and our mouth to be in the same place. And so there needs to be consistency before the Lord comes where we are willing to practice what we preach and not be pretentious and pretend our religion. It needs to be genuine. Peter had first said, “Though all men forsake thee, I’ll not forsake thee.” He meant well, but his mouth and his heart were not in the same place, were they? He didn’t even know his own heart, but after he was converted he was willing to die for his faith.
He was consistent. We need to go through that experience and by the way it was the cross that sifted Peter into the church. It changed him. It shook him up. Sometimes we need that kind of shaking.
So finally, we need the Holy Spirit to see us.
Let us remember that we can do nothing on our own.
Ask For the Holy Spirit and you will receive, for without him you will not be able to stand on that great and terrible day of the Lord.( Luke 11:13)
