WHAT IS LOVE? THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE MAIN THING.

 I have been praying for some time now for God to make me pure, cleanse my heart, purify me and make me to be more like him, for him to make me have true Love.

Then I had this dream.
I was in a place, (kind of a class room)and the person who was like a teacher in the dream asked this question: What Is Love?, then the people there answered, one answered and said,
Love is Kind, the other said Love is Patient, the other person said Love is Tolerant.

So, when it came to my turn I now said Love is SACRIFICE.
That scene passed away, then I saw myself somewhere, when someone in my Church a Sister in my Church, she said she doesn't have love that much, she finds it difficult to do what we have just mentioned in the class, so she asked me to please help her write some bible text about Love, I have forgotten other bible texts, but I remembered I wrote the bible text about asking for the Holy Spirit.

Luke 11:13. It says our heavenly Father will give us the Holy Spirit if we ask.

In reality, she is someone who is very delicate to handle, there was even a time I had to tell my husband that, such a person needs extra pampering and attention.
And we don't have to listen to all what she says or her actions, but to overlook them and continue to work with her as if she has done or said nothing.

Then, I started to explain to her how the Holy Spirit is the main thing.
Then, I gave her the paper.
When she saw the paper, she was like I should please come and pray with her, to receive this Holy Spirit, since it's the main thing. Then I went to pray with her to receive the Holy Spirit and then I woke up.

Here is my interpretation for this dream.

The definition of Love is so broad and unending.

The bible tells us from our bible text that when we Love we have fulfilled the Law..

Now, Jesus Christ himself who is the word of God, the law giver tells us that the Law of God(His commandments) are summarized Into two, namely:

1. Love for God
2. Love for Man.

When we love God and our fellow human beings we have fulfilled the law.

In the 10 commandments, the first part(1-4) consists of Love for God, while the second part( commandments 5-10) conssist of Love for man.

Matthew 22:36-40

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

The bible says that God is Love.

And I said in the dream that the Holy Spirit is the main thing, this is because, when we receive the Holy Spirit it is God who now lives in us,(Ephesians 2:22) and since God is Love, we too, would have Love, we will be like Christ.

When God passed before Moses He declared His name:

"And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness".(Exodus 33:6)

Psalms 103:8
"The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy".

Where do we find these characteristics in the New Testament?
Galatians 5 that talks about the Fruit of the Spirit. And Love is the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.(Galatians 5:22-25)


Now, we have seen that God is love, so, this means that when we have Christ in us, we would exhibit or display His character which is his Fruit.
The Fruit is someone's character.
That is why the bible says, by their fruits (character) you shall know them.
How do you identify that someone is of God, by looking at the fruits.

The Holy Spirit is the greatest gift that God has given to mankind, because the law that we couldn't keep, we can now keep God's commandments according to his will because of the Spirit of God that lives in us.

The Israelites were unable to do that, because they lacked Love, they lacked the the Holy Spirit and because of that, they couldn't obey God's commandments or even show Love to their fellow human beings.

That is why God said he would write his laws in our hearts. Jeremiah 31:33


1 Corinthians 2:10-12
 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

1 Corinthians 2
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

There is no way we can understand the things of God, there is no way we can truly Love like Christ, except we have the Spirit of Christ who teaches us and instructs us.
This is indeed a great privilege and a thing of Joy to even imagine.
The Holy Spirit is the best gift ever given to man.
No wonder the Lord Jesus Christ asked his followers to pray and ask for him. Luke 11:13

This is the way to truy Love, or to be like Christ: by having the Spirit of Christ.

Please sincerely and diligently pray and ask for the baptism of the Holy Ghost, because without him, we cannot keep the commandments of God, we cannot love him...because Christ says "if you LOVE ME, keep my commandments". True Love is Obedient. How can you know the mind, or the will of God without you having the Spirit of God in you?

How Do I Receive The Baptism Of The Holy Spirit?

●Forsake your sins and repent from them
●Ask for forgiveness of sins
●Go for water baptism: if you have not.
● Pray for the baptism of the Holy Spirit.


How Do I Retain The Spirit?
●Consistency in prayers and Studying the word of God.
●Going out for evangelism and doing charity works.

The bible says in 1 Corinthians 13, even though I speak in tongues, prophesy, heal the sick and do all sorts of miracles, and we don't have Love, we are nothing but a sounding cymbal.
