DRESS REFORMATION IN THESE LAST DAYS.

 


DRESS REFORMATION AND WORDLY FASHIONS

I believe that before the day of the Lord comes, we must have formed our characters. And our dressing is part of it. We must go back to the original way, the old time religion, the ways of the Apostles and the prophets, which Christ Jesus is our corner stone. This is the Christian foundation.


Ephesians 2:20

*having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone* Now, our dressing includes, apparels, hairdos, and any other ornaments we put on.


*AND  THEIR EYES WERE OPENED AND THEY SAW THAT THEY WERE NAKED*

Today we see a lot happening in our world, some people no longer have the  sense of shame and exposure, they go about walking naked in the street.

Sometimes I see girls walking half naked, and when you talk to them, they would tell you that the world is going back to it's original state where Adam and Eve were naked and without clothes.

But they forgot that Adam and Eve never knew sin, when they were naked, they were innocent, not until sin came in, and then they knew they were naked. At least they had conscience, they could see..

But today, I don't know if our conscience have been seared, to the extent we can not tell the difference between wrong or right.

Where are the morals, our morals are depreciating more and more, each day that passes by, this is just the sign of the end.

The other day I saw in the news people going naked in their carnival, no shame

 Genesis 2:25


25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed".


The pair in eden were naked in terms of our artificial clothing but they were not ashamed because they were clothed with light as the angels were.

The sinless pair wore no artificial garments; they were clothed with a covering of light and glory, such as the angels wear. So long as they lived in obedience to God, this robe of light continued to enshroud them. 

*Thus if we look even Jehovah is clothed in light*


Psalm 104

1 Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty

.2 Who coverest [thyself] with light as [with] a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain.


So we see Man made in the image of God was also clothed with light, But we know that afterward man sinned and thus he was ashamed and we know that the robe of light disappeared.......


*So we see after sin man tried to cover his nakedness but it’s not our works that can cover us only the blood of Jesus can cover our sin* . *So we see here that immodest dressing started under the influence of sin*.

AND GOD COVERED THEIR NAKEDNESS


Genesis 3


21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.


 *So we see after Jesus told them the gospel he demonstrated it by slaying a lamb and then taking the coats of skins clothing 

Adam and Eve.*


Thus we see that Jesus cover Adam and Eve. The lamb representing Jesus the lamb slain from the foundation of the world 


Revelation 13:8. So we see dressing is a heart issue, it is directly connected with character formation and our salvation.

*The way you dress is an index of your character*

“The dress and its arrangement upon the person is generally found to be the index of the man or the woman. 

We judge of a person's character by the style of dress worn. A modest, godly woman will dress modestly.

 A refined taste, a cultivated mind, will be revealed in the choice of a simple, appropriate attire. . . . The one who is simple and unpretending in her dress and in her manners shows that she understands that a true woman is characterized by moral worth.


 How charming, how interesting, is simplicity in dress, which in comeliness can be compared with the flowers of the field.”

So we see? Contrary to what some people are saying that we are going back to the time of Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve were without Sin, and thus, were clothed with light. (Righteousness)

Now, that  sin has entered the world should we not clothe ourselves properly? Any attempt to be like Adam and Even now is an act  of seduction and rebellion ( sin)

Mini skirts, bump shorts, all are the weapons of the devil to seduce men and take many souls to eternal damnation with him.

Matthew 18:6

*But anyone whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea*

Some of us, wear clothing that are so provocative and seductive that even the most spirit filled man of God can not but lust after us.

Sometimes we wear them to Church, there by getting the attention of men, and instead of them concentration in the Church service, they are carried away by lust.

They're some dresses we wear, that show all our figures, even though they are long and touching the ground, yet we are naked.

One may say, what is wrong with this dress, is it not long enough? 

Like I said before, when we have been transformed, they are some certain things we drop, because the Spirit of God will convict us about them, so it's not just keeping the letters of the law, but knowing the Spirit behind each law.

 *Gender confusion and moral decline*

Duetronomy 22:5

5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so [are] abomination unto the LORD thy God.


 Here a distinction between the sexes is to be held in dress. Women are not supposed to be putting on trousers or anything that pertains to a man and so too men are not to put on clothes that a woman ought to put on. Even the children of the world know this: as you are going to the public rest rooms (toilets) you look up to the sign and you see a black figure in a skirt  🚺and a black figure in a trouser 🚹and you don’t argue with that, then why do we argue with the bible on this?

God is not a God of confusion, he made it clear in the bible how both sexes are to dress to avoid confusion and seduction etc.. But the devil who has always opposed God from the very beginning, has put into the hearts of men to disobey their God once again concerning this issue.


Let's take a look at this very brief history about trousers 

Trousers (British English) or pants (American English) first appear in recorded history among nomadic steppe-people in Western Europe. . The use of trousers has been restricted to men. In many regions, this norm was enforced not only by social custom but also by law. There are, however, many historical cases of women wearing trousers in *defiance of these norms, for a variety of reasons, including comfort, freedom of movement, fashion, *disguise* (notably for runaway slaves[2]), *attempts to evade the gender pay gap*, and attempts to establish an *empowered public identity for women*.[3]Especially in the 20th and 21st centuries, the customs and laws restricting this manner of dress have relaxed dramatically, reflecting a growing acceptance and normalization of the practice.

We can see why women wore trousers then, When they wanted to disguise themselves, and also when they wanted to be like men


Remember it’s a heart issue


Revelation 3

5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

*Do our garments still reflect our character & righteousness by faith?*


  1 Timothy 2

9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.


 *What does “modest” mean?*

 Aprons – immodest; Coats – modest = Keeping the body appropriately covered


 “Not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array” = Lack of extravagance in ornamentation and in expenditure of means; not drawing attention to self

The Bible is against outward adorning period. This is so clear. Even in the lipstick search it out and you will see how its made from Lard pig fat. So we need truly to shun make up too. Put simple oil to anoint the skin. Search also issue of miniskirts 


there were there even in ancient Egypt and remember God brought them out of Egypt. The woman who invented the miniskirts said 

"i want to seduce men in broad day light" she was a European. There is this new fashion among men 


“Ungono ugono” find out who designed these things!


What soever that the Lord has not given to us naturally, and we covet it, we prefer it more than the natural one the Lord has given to us, it's covetousness.


We have heard in the ten commandments, thou shall not covet your neighbour's property, or anything that belongs to your neighbour.. But I tell you now, that we're living in a new dispensation, covetousness goes beyond your close by neighbour and his properties.


What so ever is not natural to us, which belong to other races, and we want it is covetousness.

What soeverthe Lord has not given us, is not meant for us.

If we are not contended with what the Lord has given us, rather we want our neighbour's own, then we are greedy, ungrateful.


God made us black, but we want to be white, and we go as far as bleaching our skins to attain our *desired* complexion.


We are born with woolly hair, but we desire straight hair like the Europeans..

We are born with short nose, but we desire to have a straight nose, and we go as far as doing a plastic surgery to change it.

We are born as boys, but we change our sex organs to become females.

We are born with dark eyes, but we change it and put blue eyes.. We are born with short eyelashes, but we tell God that he doesn't know what he created, and we are trying to recreate ourselves the way we deem fit, by putting artificial long eyelashes. God is not happy with all these things...

*That's ingratitude, in satisfaction, making a lie, covetousness* Pretending to be who you're not.

Revelation 21:27

"*And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life*

It's high time we started appreciating ourselves and be proud of whom we  are.

Last two weeks I saw in the news a doctor, (if am not mistaken) calling for the arrest of a Lady he met, she so much disguised herself with makeup in other to look good, her complexion was fair because of it, but when she washed the make up off her face, the young man, couldn't bear it...


He was do infuriated.. "Why would she deceive me?  She told a lie of who she was," I never knew she was like that"

The young man called what that lady did, *MAKING A LIE* * DECIET*

In fact the young man went ahead to warn unmarried men, never to marry a lady who is on make up, that they be *concealing* their true looks. 

If this young man, could tell that this is making a lie, and deciet, how much more we who are Christians, who know that we're no longer living by the letters of the law,  it the Spirit of the law is now guiding us into all truth.

Why can't we be sincere to ourselves.

What is make up, that we can't do away with?

Let's stop asking God why he made us this way?

His ways are perfect, and what ever he does is good. I have heard some people accuse God for making them black etc..

Romans 9:20-21

20 "Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?


21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour.


God is a God of variety, we can look at the birds of the air, some with beautiful different colours, some with one color.


The owl with big eyes, the ostrich with long necks, so which would say I do not like the way God made me?


Both, white, black, brown skin are all from God, blonde, straight, Wooly hair are from God. So let's appreciate him.


*All he made was good*

Genesis 1:31

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

 *Wearing of Jewelries and other adornment*.


2kings 9:30

When Jehu came to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it, and she *painted her eyes and adorned her head* and looked out the window.( seduction)


Exodus 33:5, 6

For the Lord had said to Moses, “Say to the sons of Israel, ‘You are an obstinate people; should I go up in your midst for one moment, I would destroy you. Now therefore, *put off your ornaments from you*, that I may know what I shall do with you.’”

6 *And the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments by the mount* Horeb.


Genesis 35:1-4, 

Then God said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel and live there, and make an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you fled from your brother Esau.” So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, *Put away the foreign gods which are among you* and purify yourselves and change your garments; and let us arise and go up to Bethel, and I will make an altar there to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and has been with me wherever I have gone.” 

*So they gave to Jacob all the foreign gods which they had and the rings which were in their ears*, and Jacob hid them under the oak which was near Shechem.


Hosea 2:13

*And I will visit upon her the days of Baalim, wherein she burned incense to them, and she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and she went after her lovers, and forgat me, saith the LORD*.


Did you notice something?

All these were associated with pagan worship, idols..

Even the Egyptians that did it was like an act of worship and during the ceremonies of their gods.

These were what the ungodly women of those days wore, but we are been admonished to be like the Godly women of old 

1 Peter 3:3-5

*Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of
